Delhi police has started a service for safety through an App called 'Himmat'. This App is specially meant for the safety of women. Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh launched this App on Thursday at Delhi and stated that this App is meant for safety. This App is available for all Android users and is free for download.
This App is a great initiative from Delhi Police. With the help of this App all Android Smartphone users can make a call to the Police Control Room. People can also make a 30 second Audio or Video by pressing the Power Button of the Smartphone. While the App was developed keeping in mind the women's safety, Himmat App can be used by all users on happening of a crime. Police said that all people specially women can contact them in the quickest possible time with the help of this App.

The important part of the App is that people can save upto five contacts for Emergency calls. This way at the press of the SOS button the call is made not only to Police but to the user's friends and relatives about an element of emergency faced by the caller.
Note: To use this App the users need to first register at the Delhi Police Website and obtain Registration Key (OTP). This key needs to be entered for the completion of application configuration.
