When it comes to desktop video players, VLC media player finds itself in the list of "Most-preferred" and "Most widely used" media player. Its variant features and options always left the users delighted. Although VLC aced as media player for desktops, it's entry into Android was rather gloomy. The reason which contributed to the ‘gloomy’ impression of VLC for android was its lack of striking features that would give tough time to other already established apps on Android.
However, VLC for Android bounced back and supplemented itself with "Playback in background" option with the recent update. The older version of VLC for Android supported All-in-one media Playback and a very intuitive interface. Adding on to the existing feature, Playback in background allowed user to continue playing the video in background even after the Home button is pressed or the screen is locked. User can toggle the slide Menu and select other options.
Moreover, the latest update also sports a new album view bar and improved the audio player. The improvement of audio player from an overused pattern to diverse player makes it even more user friendly. Along with the most popular feature of VLC which is Playback Speed, Audio delay control has been added. Talking about the underlying implementation, faster logging and better SD card browsing have also been added.
Summarizing, here are the add-ons to the VLC for Android in the latest update.
